Abstract

The book "Second Language Teacher Professional Development: Technological Innovations for Post-Emergency Teacher Education" by Michael Thomas and Karim Sadeghi explores the profound impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on language teacher education (LTE) and how teachers find their ways through these challanges. The pandemic necessitated an abrupt shift to online teaching, challenging educators torapidly adapt their methods and tools. The book is divided into three parts and includes 15 research papers from diverse contexts, focusing on the integration of technology in LTE. The first section examines the initial responses to the pandemic and the effectiveness of technological tools in education. The second part delves into the reactions and adaptations of teacher educators and pre-service and in-service teachers in various countries, highlighting the need for digital literacy and innovative teaching strategies. The final section explores specific technological applications and their implementation in LTE.
